I am a female and have only watched and been to professional basketball and football games. I have always wanted to attend a baseball game but never had anyone to go with. Today is December 25, 2009 and I layed in bed and watched the documentary "The Lost Son of Havana". I can't tell you how I was so emotionally caught up in the story that I immediately googled Luis Tiant because I needed to know more about who this man is. I've always known about the struggles of the Cuban people, but now I have a whole new respect for Cuba and baseball. The documentary made me realize that I only know American struggle, and that I cannot fathom what it must feel like to not see my mother for 17 years. I have hopes of one day meeting El Tiant and expressing how I can truly appreciate what he has brought to baseball and the American people. Hats off to an outstanding legend.

Outstanding film. I wish more people get to see the struggle, sacrifice and challenges it take someone from Cuba to make it in the MLB.
